There are a lot of issues that are currently circulating in society today and people have become more and more interested in learning about these and try to be as educated. This is a good advance, far from the kind of society we grew up in. Today, people are more for equality and act.
Nowadays, more and more people are getting involved with the fact that the world is changing, especially in terms of society’s perception and acceptance of seemingly far-fetched ideas if we talked about them 10 years ago.
Art Design for a Cause is trying to push forward beliefs that we, ourselves, believe that will continue the ongoing progress the Philippine society has been trying to put to light.
Several issues like same-sex rights, societal perception, and self-achievement have continued to boggle and poke at the minds of society and yet little to no steps toward its progress. What we aim to achieve with these artworks is that people might start becoming more open to these issues.
Society’s Pet, was created by De La-Salle Dasmariñas multi-media arts student Chloie Teck. The main message of the artwork is that, society often depicts how an individual should be. How they should dress, act, and present themselves. The goal of the artwork is to depict a person breaking away from the said social norm and finally being themselves.
Life’s Winner is an artwork created by Challen Rosario, a multi-media arts student from De La-Salle Dasmariñas. He depicts a racetrack full of individuals who are racing towards a finish line, but the thing we liked most about this artwork is the fact that the people in the race are actually different professionals who are working towards different goals at different times.
Life isn’t a race amongst everyone. Not everyone goes at the same pace and not everyone is working towards a single goal. We all have different finish lines and we accomplish them at different times in our lives. We shouldn’t be beat up by being slower than others because they’re going towards a different finish line.
Fair Rights, was created by De La-Salle Dasmariñas multi-media arts student Chloie Teck. Conceptualized to mirror the current issue about giving fair rights to same sex couples. This artwork aims to depict the artist’s view on the current issue.
As artists, we may find that we have no voice or power to change or speak about socio-cultural issues but in truth, we have as much power as politicians do. What is it? Influence. We think that only the rich and famous are able to influence but really, our ability to convey social issues like these to something more artistic and more creaive in order to relate to the public more is power in itself.
